Corporate Travel Specialist (Temporary Position)

Tyler is seeking a Part-Time Temporary resource for our internal travel department. The Corporate Travel Specialist is the main liaison for employee travel questions and issues, including monitoring usage of our primary booking tools, and troubleshooting travel and billing issues. This position reviews and analyzes costs associated with travel and helps ensure travel program costs stay within budget. This position also identifies cost-effective travel solutions to meet the needs of our business units. If you have prior travel agency experience, we encourage you to apply!

The Corporate Travel Specialist helps keep travel costs to a minimum, while improving user experience with travel tools. They will work with various teams throughout the company for group event room blocks and billing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison for employee travel inquires and concerns. 
  • Monitors and responds to Tyler Travel Team inbox. 
  • Helps develop and maintain company travel policies and procedures. 
  • Audit and review travel activities. 
  • Make travel arrangements for employees who aren’t regular travelers or are new hires 
  • Assist in arranging traveler for recruits, clients and large event attendees 
  • Track and Manage airline credits for unused or cancelled flights and credits from airline rewards programs for employee travel 
  • Collaborate closely with Meeting and Events team on hotel block discounts and event airline discounts 
  • Assist travelers in emergency situations such as storms or natural disasters 
  • Tyler point of contact for all travel issues, such as cancellations, missed flights, car issues 
  • Coordinate travel for summits, sales group meetings and the annual User Exchange meeting 
  • Work closely with corporate credit card vendor on multiple business travel accounts and the use of virtual payment cards for employees that do not have credit cards 
  • Collaborate with Tyler project teams to identify hotels near project sites, negotiate group rates with these hotels and load the discounted rates in our booking tool 
  • Work closely with our travel management company (Solutions Travel) and their agent teams to support the needs of our travelers 
  • Assist with the rollout of new travel tools and self-service features to streamline the traveler experience 
  • Interface with the AP team to reconcile charges on central billing accounts and to support expense management policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or comparable work experience 
  • Typically requires 1-2 years’ of experience in the travel industry, preferably in a corporate environment. 
  • Experience with travel booking tools such as Concur and Spotnana 
  • Ability to monitor project budgets and make cost effective decisions to assist travelers and help the company manage expenses. 
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, especially Excel 
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal and state laws and regulations related to business travel. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including developing and conducting presentations related to travel policy 
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels 
  • Effectively handle travel emergencies and crisis situations involving travelers 
  • Attention to detail for complex travel transactions 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
The Corporate Travel Specialist must be able to:
  • Work effectively with travel booking and reservation tools 
  • Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to resolving system and program issues. 
  • Keep up to date about business travel best-practices. 
  • Understand and disseminate information about airline, rental car, and hotel programs. 
  • Demonstrate clear and concise communication and customer service skills with staff at all levels of the company. 
  • Work efficiently under constantly changing timelines.
