Introduction
Tyler Technologies, Inc. and its subsidiaries, along with their respective business units and business lines ("Tyler", “we,” “us” or “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy. This Tyler Privacy Statement tells you what you need to know about our information collection, use, and sharing practices, and about your rights with respect to our collection, use, and sharing of your information when you interact with Tyler through any of our online applications and features, digital services, websites and mobile applications (collectively the "Tyler Platform”). It also applies to information Tyler collects through other means, including information collected offline.
Most often, Tyler processes personal data on behalf of our clients (i.e., public sector entities such as towns and cities, schools and school districts, and other government entities) for the purpose of providing digital products or services. This means that Tyler is commonly a “data processor” of personal data, while our clients are typically “controllers” that oversee the management of the personal data in support of their public sector functions. In limited circumstances, Tyler is the “controller” of personal data and determines the purpose and means of processing the personal data we collect, use, and share.
We may revise this Privacy Statement periodically and will post any changes to the Tyler Platform. Changes to the Tyler Privacy Statement are effective at the time they are posted and your continued use of the Tyler Platform, or provision of information to us through other means after posting will constitute acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, those changes. Please review this Privacy Statement from time to time to ensure you are aware of changes to it. If you do not agree with the Tyler Privacy Statement, please do not use the Tyler Platform.
We strongly encourage you to read the following section that is applicable to your relationship with Tyler in its entirety. Depending on your interaction with Tyler and the Tyler Platform, more than one section may apply.
Tyler as Data Processor
Most often, Tyler is the “data processor” of personal data provided to us, but controlled by our clients (i.e., public sector entities such as towns and cities, schools and school districts, or government entities utilizing Tyler products or services). Where Tyler collects, uses, and shares your information on behalf of our client(s) as part of our provision of services to these clients, we do so only at the direction of the Tyler client.
Tyler as Data Processor applies generally to Tyler’s collection and use of personal data in connection with our provision of the products and services we are contracted to provide to our clients. For information related to the privacy practices of a Tyler client who uses Tyler products or services, please contact the respective Tyler client directly. Tyler does not manage and is not responsible for the privacy practices of Tyler clients, which may differ from the privacy practices described in the Tyler Privacy Statement.

Tyler as Controller
Where Tyler collects, uses, and shares your information on our own behalf (and not at the direction of our clients), we may do so for such purposes as marketing, enabling use of Tyler websites and/or services, certain mobile applications, and social media pages that link to the Tyler Privacy Statement, facilitating applications for employment, and other employment-related functions such as administering employment benefits, and interacting with you during industry conferences and other in-person or virtual events. Tyler as Controller does not apply to the extent Tyler processes personal data in the role of a data processor or service provider on behalf of our clients. For information related to the privacy practices of a Tyler client who uses Tyler products or services, please contact the respective Tyler client directly. Tyler does not manage and is not responsible for the privacy practices of Tyler clients, which may differ from the privacy practices described in the Tyler Privacy Statement.
