Our mission at Tyler Technologies is to build great software that makes local, state, and federal government more efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of citizens.
 
We're looking for a Director of Sales to lead a team of account executives and help us expand our footprint in the State market. We're looking for someone with a track record of success in selling enterprise software who enjoys mentoring and motivating a sales team. The ideal candidate is capable of building relationships with the highest-ranking State officials such as the governor, chief of staff, agency heads, and State CIO.
 
This role will be compensated on base salary plus the achievement of their team’s quota. The salary range listed is for the base salary and not inclusive of the OTE with commission plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic sales plan for the geographic territory and ensure the plan is implemented in a manner that maximizes revenue growth.
  • Act as a resource for the sales team on day-to-day activities and train newly hired Account Executives.
  • Manage personnel issues and decisions such as hiring, employee performance, and professional development.
  • Negotiate contracts and handle pricing decisions within given parameters.
  • Travel to trade shows and client sites as needed.
  • Champion the sales toolset and prioritize the team's use of technology. Internally, support & understand the implementation of new solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to conduct training sessions to educate the sales team on sales related functions, reporting, and tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience selling enterprise software products and services.
  • Proven experience acting as a resource to staff in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of helping employees achieve maximum performance.
  • A competitive drive and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees.
  • Previous experience working in a sales CRM required.
  • Must possess general computer (PC) literacy and proficiency with MS Office
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
