Tyler Technologies is looking for a Technical Writer Intern to join our Cybersecurity team. This internship is for a committed and research-oriented intern who will create a knowledge base and a detailed library of white papers on IT security and technology topics. The intern will gain insight into IT security and add value to our team and clients by researching and writing extensively on these topics. The intern will also work with and learn from experts in the industry, building their skills and connections. 

This internship can be fully remote, but will require in-person onboarding during the first week in one of our Maine or New Hampshire offices.

Work with our advanced cybersecurity solutions to help all types of businesses protect and monitor their network infrastructure. You can help develop sustainable, customized programs and processes that defend our clients against cyberattacks and improve their cyber resiliency.

Responsibilities

  • Draft whitepapers and build a knowledgebase on current cybersecurity topics.
  • Assists in reviews of drafted reports, focusing on grammar and formatting checks.
  • Remains current on information security trends.
  • Actively participates in company, management, and team meetings.
  • Assist with product redevelopment, increasing efficiencies, adding automation, and modernizing the team’s deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Prior experience writing research papers or similar publications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with academic and industry research methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Current student or recent college graduate in English, Technical Writing, Cybersecurity or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with NIST, CMMC, and PCI-DSS compliance a plus.
  • Familiarity with COBIT, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, FAIR, OCTAVE, NIST RMF, a plus.
