Below is a detailed description detailing each Community training track and the consultant who will be conducting the associated trainings.

Ajna Hasonovic — Finance

Ajna graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2022, she transitioned to Tyler as a Financial Implementation Consultant on the PACE team, where she has successfully trained hundreds of clients on a range of financial topics, from purchasing to year-end close procedures. A fun fact about Ajna is that she is multilingual—Bosnian is her first language, and she mastered English by the age of 5. She recently returned from an exciting trip to Europe—feel free to ask her about her adventures!

Sessions:

Session 1: Introduction to 1099 Manager

This session will focus on setting up and utilizing the 1099 Manager to review and print various 1099 forms on paper and generate the appropriate e-file. Also included in this session, we will demonstrate how to make corrections and modifications to ensure 1099 and vendor accuracy prior to finalization.

Objectives

After completion of this class, participants will have the knowledge necessary to complete the 1099 process.

Session 2: Purchasing Plus Introduction

This session will focus on reviewing the enhancements found within the free Purchasing Plus addon. Included within this session, participants will become familiar with new features found in Contract Management, Inventory Management, and Bid Management. Participants will also see how this free add-on can be added to their environment via a simple system update.

After completion of this course, participants will have gained the knowledge to add and utilize the Purchasing Plus add-on within their own environment.

Session 3: Budget 101

This session will focus on reviewing the complete budget process from start to finish. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to use the Budget modules within Munis, including setting up budget projections, using Budget Central, and managing budget amendments and transfers. Additionally, the session will cover generating reports to streamline and simplify day-to-day budget tasks.

Session 4: Purchase Order and Contracts Tips & Tricks

This session will focus on both creating contracts and linking them with purchase orders, integrating both processes seamlessly. By the end of the session, participants will have gained familiarity or enhanced their knowledge in contract creation, preparing for year-end processes, and printing contracts to identify potential issues. Additionally, the session will cover rolling purchase orders for year-end preparation and explain the differences between budget carryforward methods, highlighting how they impact both contracts and purchase orders.

Session 5: Year End Close Prep

This session will focus on preparing for year-end and ensuring that the often-daunting year-end close process runs smoothly. By the end of the session, participants will have gained the knowledge needed to successfully close the year by using the Year-End Manager module, checking for errors, running reconciliation reports, and posting budget.

Objectives

After completion of this course, participants will have gained the knowledge to utilize multiple different modules within set up, in addition to closing the year.

Basic familiarity with Settings, General Ledger, Budgets, Contracts, Capital Assets, Month End Manager, etc.

George Maloney — Revenue

George Maloney is an Implementation Consultant with a strong background in the public sector and utility industries. With 15 years of industry knowledge, George brings a wealth of expertise to his role, helping organizations optimize their operations and systems. He holds an Engineering degree and has been part of Tyler Technologies since 2022. Outside of work, George enjoys spending time camping, to unwind and recharge.

Session 1: Enterprise forms (Readyforms) for Utility Billing and General Billing

In this session, we will explore the management and configuration of Enterprise forms templates specific to Utility Billing (UB) and General Billing (GB). Participants will learn how to create .rtf files and understand the importance of document splitting for Delivery Definitions. This hands-on class aims to equip attendees with the skills needed to effectively manage and configure Enterprise forms templates for their billing processes.

After completing this session, participants will be proficient in managing and configuring Enterprise forms templates, creating .rtf files, and implementing document split for Delivery Definitions.

Please have access to Enterprise forms in a non-production environment.

Session 2: Payment Entry in Utility Billing

This session dives into the intricacies of Payment Entry within Utility Billing, focusing on key processes that streamline payment handling. Participants will learn about cashiering batch preferences, default settings, and how to effectively search for bills using the shopping cart feature. We’ll also explore the payment entry process, including batch setup, entry screens, and tendering options. Additionally, the session will cover the integration with CSS/Utility Access, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of payment entry functionalities.

After completing this session, participants will have a solid understanding of the following aspects of Payment Entry: cashiering batch preferences, payment entry processes, and the integration with CSS/Utility Access.

Participants should have a basic understanding of General Billing or Utility Billing functionality, as well as access and permissions to Cashiering or Payment Entry.

Session 3: Billing Processes in Enterprise ERP

This session focuses on the essential aspects of billing, covering processes such as Recurring Invoices, Miscellaneous Cash Receipts, and Accounts Receivable Reconciliation. Participants will learn how to create and manage recurring invoice templates and generate invoices efficiently. We’ll also explore how to handle miscellaneous receipts for revenue that does not require an invoice, as well as navigating the AR reconciliation process, especially the Define screen for Detail Receivable by Date.

Objectives

After completing this session, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Recurring Invoices, Miscellaneous Cash Receipts, and the AR reconciliation process within Utility Billing.

Session 4: General Billing and Utility Billing: Adjustments and Refunds

This session will concentrate on Billing Adjustments and Refunds within General Billing and Utility Billing. Participants will learn how to process adjustments for bills that originate from either General Billing or Utility Billing, covering both header and detail adjustments. The session will also delve into the refund process, with a particular focus on mass selection for bill refunds.

After completing this session, participants will have a thorough understanding of how to perform billing adjustments and process refunds, including the techniques for handling bill runs, bill refunds, and bill adjustments.

Session 5: Field Sheet for Utility Billing

In this session, we will cover the essentials of using the Field Sheet app for Utility Billing work orders. Participants will learn how to connect the app, filter and complete work orders efficiently, and apply best practices for customer actions such as Move In, Move Out, and Revert to Owner. This practical session aims to enhance participants' skills in managing work orders in Utility Billing using Field Sheet effectively.

After completing this session, participants will be able to connect the Field Sheet app, filter and complete work orders, and apply best practices for customer actions within Utility Billing.

Kathy Stovall — Human Resource Management

Kathy graduated from the University of Maine in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business; in Spring 2024, she completed her Master’s Degree in Business Management. Tyler Technologies hired her shortly thereafter as a PACE Team Implementation Consultant. Kathy is trilingual, with fluency in Russian and German in addition to English. This session will focus on tax reporting and processing the W2 and 1099 R forms within Enterprise ERP.

Objectives

After completing this class, participants will better understand the setup needed to process the W-2 successfully and how to prepare the 1099-R records while complying with the reporting requirements mandated by the federal and state governments.

This session will focus on creating and maintaining annual or fiscal year Salary and Benefit Projections by simulating all the changes that would typically occur without affecting the Live data.

After completing this class, participants will better understand how to forecast personnel expenses (wages and benefits) for an annual or fiscal year, which will aid the ability to make informed decisions and meet budgetary goals.

Session 5: Personnel Actions

This session will focus on Personnel Actions Entry functionality, which allows users to initiate and process changes made to employee records without making direct entries into Live data.

Tyler joined Tyler Technologies in 2023 as an implementation consultant on the PACE team after a 11-year career in the pharmaceutical industry. His passions include family, fitness, food, travel, and animals.

This session covers introductory HUB functionality, including cards, pages, and general features. We’ll demonstrate creating a dashboard to streamline processes and improve efficiency, along with integrating HUB with a Centrals program.

Participants will know the process of how create custom dashboards, edit existing pages, extract data from the HUB, and learn best practices with centrals programs.
