Award-Winning Cities Recognized
October 23, 2020 by Meredith Trimble
Tyler clients across the country are known public sector pioneers. These leaders in innovation and data-driven governance are creating critical connections between government and those they serve while improving operations, enhancing community engagement, and providing better service.
Recently, a number of Tyler clients were recognized for their creative solutions, in particular, the Route Fifty Navigator Awards and the Bloomberg Philanthropies What Works Cities Certifications.
Route Fifty Navigator Awards
The Route Fifty Navigator Awards honor excellence in state and local government. The awards celebrate teams or individuals who have demonstrated an ability to implement a creative solution to improve public sector services and communities. Award categories are: The Electeds, The Leaders, The Allies, The Tech Innovators, and The Next Generation.
This year, three of the five winners are Tyler clients. We are thrilled to celebrate with these innovative government leaders:
- City of Evanston, Illinois, The Electeds, Alderman Robin Rue Simmons, Black Community Representation
This initiative provides reparations for the Black community, which will be funded from taxes on recreational marijuana sales.
- City of Charlotte, North Carolina, The Leaders, Taiwo Jaiyeoba, Growing Better Places Board Game
The board game engages residents in planning the city’s future and is part of a vision strategy for 2040.
- Commonwealth of Virginia, The Tech Innovators, Carlos Rivero, Addiction Analysis and Community Transformation
Virginia's Framework for Addiction Analysis and Community Transformation is a secure data-sharing platform that helps Virginia’s communities combat the opioid crisis.
Nominations by Route Fifty readers are considered by the Route Fifty editorial staff and are rated on the measurements of innovation, implementation, and outcomes. Congratulations again to these winners from Tyler clients who are making a meaningful difference in their communities and are paving the way for similar projects in other jurisdictions.
