The past 20 months have been incredibly challenging for the appraisal industry, and the annual International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) conference gave everyone a chance to get back to in-person networking and education.
Chicago’s Hyatt Regency hotel hosted more than 1,000 assessment professionals from around the nation and beyond. Tyler Technologies was once again a premier sponsor of the event, hosting the annual welcome reception on Sunday and offering coasters, a top hat, and glasses, to support the Blues Brothers theme. Guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while our very own Troy Fryman gave a brief speech in the main lobby to welcome and kick off the night.
After the opening reception, the following morning began with a flutter of activity. The always-exciting opening session began with keynote speaker, Morris Morrison, taking the stage to captivate the audience with heartwarming stories, motivation and encouragement, and poignant messages to get everyone ready for the road ahead.
Flowing directly into open booth hours, Morris headed over to Tyler’s booth to interact with attendees and sign a few promotional items for sale. The booth welcomed clients and prospects from New Orleans to Florida and beyond, as folks participated in demonstrations, chatted about opportunities, and networked with friends and colleagues. A first at this event, a small video crew was assembled to capture testimonials and stories from attendees to share the true IAAO experience with those not in attendance. Our representatives spoke with partners, clients, prospects, and just about anyone who was willing to take some time to chat with us.
Engagement was high, with in-person interviews happening in one corner, demonstrations of our newest assessment analytics solution, Assessment Connect, in another area, and exciting conversations with interested parties in another. And, Tyler’s exclusive demo room offered even more education and information for assessment professionals looking to adapt with the changing industry environment.
As the days continued, the booth welcomed numerous guests and invited attendees to share their perspectives on the significance of IAAO in respect to their careers. A consistent theme, the continued support and collaboration with IAAO has been steadfast for Tyler and for many other organizations and will continue to evolve in the future as we aim to connect communities across the nation with powerful, efficient software and services.
To help strengthen these bonds of community and service, Tyler was able to make a significant donation in the amount of $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity Chicago, and $5,000 to Lafayette Habitat for Humanity — helping to serve both the local event community, as well as those affected by the recent hurricane.
We hope to share our vision for the future and our passion for connecting communities with many more participants at next year’s event in Boston, and we couldn’t be more excited about things to come.
