Make Police Reporting Easier

Writing reports is one of the most time-consuming aspects of police work. Plus, with known areas of redundancy, it can be frustrating.

For instance, when multiple law enforcement officers respond to the same incident, each individual is required to submit a report for that incident, which can impact the accuracy and details of the report.

That’s why modern agencies need to work with today’s technology to help officers and agencies spend less time writing reports and more time proactively policing. To do this, law enforcement agencies are turning to mobile report writing capabilities.

Write Reports From Anywhere

It’s a long-held understanding that public safety agencies can be hesitant to change when it comes to mission-critical solutions and applications. However, law enforcement officers and support staff generally utilize technology just like the rest of the public, which means they are used to using smartphones to do everything from communicating with loved ones to paying the bills.

So why should policing be any different?

When law enforcement officers can write a report on any device with or without an internet connection and collaborate on reports in real time, they spend less time on administrative work and more time keeping communities safe.

To do this effectively, they need to use a report writing application that works in tandem with an agency’s records management system to:

  • Reduce data reentry by importing information from existing data sources, including case reports, incident reports, and any field interview captured during a response
  • Maintain a single source of data for an agency’s records database
  • Allow multiple officers to work on the same report and reduce redundancy/duplicate reports

With mobile report writing capabilities, all officers involved with an arrest, case, field interview, or incident can contribute to the same report, thereby improving efficiency, streamlining reviews, and reducing the number of reports generated by officers.
